If you are a member of NLS, you can now use Bard. You should have an digital talking book play such Nls's new digital talking book player, which you can get for free from NLs if you are a member or a Victor Reader Stream from Humanware, which will cost more but you will love it as well.

Sign up with the talking book center in your area. It's free.
Or go to www.podiobooks.com
and if I mention the deadly word that starts and ends with t and has orren in the middle I'll be banned. :p

Er, no, the word torrent, has several meanings, not just the download meaning, so no, I don't think you'll be banned for uttering that word, lol. As for free audio books, you only get two a month this way, but if you sign up to Audible, they give you two credits per month which gives you two free audio books per month. Even the two credit boxes are automatically checked when you come to purchase your books in your shopping cart/basket. I've downloaded hmmmmmm, about 50 books absolutely free since I joined up. It's well worth it. Also, you have to download Audible Manager in order to download the books, but that has some advantages too. You can also download them straight from the site on to a mobile/portable player/recorder such as an Olympus DS-30, DS-40, DS-50, DS-71, DS-75 Etc Etc. You could even download them on to your phone if supported, though the process of connecting your chosen portable device is a little tricky, but once added, you'll litterally, be carrying 50 audio books round with you in your pocket if not a lot more, depending on the amount of free memory on your portable device.

Are you saying that when you sign up, you get those credits free? Do they renew each month?

ah yes, free audiobooks. The thing about audibles download manager is that if you have a mac, you don't even need to download the audible software. It downloads straight through your download manager. As for sights, there aren't many, but if you have the money, audible is well worth it.
